With the beginning of the term we have some wonderful new books for the children to read.

NEW TO OUR COLLECTION

Bad Dad

This book is suitable for all ages. Bad Dad is a fast and furious, heart warming story of a father and son on an adventure - and a thrilling mission to break an innocent man into prison.

The Getaway

This is the 12th instalment of the popular Diary of a wimpy kid books.  In this book Greg Heffley and his family are getting out of town.  As always nothing goes smoothly for the Greg and his family. Read the funny exploits of the Heffley family and the trip.  Also check out the other 11 books in the series.

Ban this book

This book is not what it seems.  This is an inspiring tale of a fourth grader who fights back when her favourite book is banned from the library.  So Amy decides to start her won illegal locker library.  A joyful and enjoyable book for all ages.

The Sisters Grimm

This is the first in a series of the Sisters Grimm. The two main characters Sabrina an Daphne Grimm discover that their famous ancestors, the Brother Grimm who wrote the classic fairy tale books, were actually collections of case files of magical mischief.   Now the girls mus take on the family responsibility of being fairy tale detectives.

Hot Dog: Circus Time

What is this book about?

This book is about Lizzie, Kev and Hot Dog going to the circus but Lizzie joins the circus and does the trapeze.

Who would this book be suitable for?

I think it would be suitable for ages 5 to 16.

Would you/would you not recommend the book? Why?

I would recommend this book to people who like the circus.

Magic Ballerina: Delphie and the Magic Ballet Shoes

What is this book about?

This book is about a ballerina who goes to Madame Zaza's ballet class and gets lovely ballet shoes.

Who would this book be suitable for?

This book would be suitable for ages 5 to 10.

I recommend this book because it's about bellet.

My Thoughts on Reading

I like reading because you learn a lot about animals and other people.

My favourite type of book to read is "Can You Cuddle Like a Koala" because it has different animals in it that can cuddle.

It is important to read because then you learn a lot of stuff.

My reading goal is to read a very big novel.

Witch's Cat Wanted, Apply Within

What is this book about?

It's about a witch who wants a Witch's Cat but each time she gets a cat at her door it's the wrong cat. In the end she finds the right cat and is happy.

Who would this book be suitable for?

Ages 5 to 8 and for kids who like cats and witches.

Would you/would you not recommend the book? Why?

I would recommend this book because it's funny in the middle and has a happy ending.

Artemis Fowl

What is this book about?

A 12 year old boy discovers that he is a genius. He has a bodyguard called Butler. He finds the fairies with Butler.

Who would this book be suitable for?

A year 5/6/7 boy would be the most interested in this story. If you like mystery or adventure this book is for you.

Would you/would you not recommend the book? Why?

I would strongly recommend this book because I liked all the fairy characters. Holy is my favourite.

Hot Dog and his friends are going on a mad adventure to help a baby bird find his missing Mum. They'll climb to crazy heights to find her.
